“Seeing Rohit batting, I was wondering where you would bowl to him as well” – R Ashwin

He said: “5-6 years ago when Rohit was batting, Virat Kohli and I had a discussion. I don’t remember which match it was. Seeing Rohit batting, I was wondering where you would bowl to him as well. Do? If Rohit gets set after 15-20 overs, you won’t know where to bowl to him.”

Virat asked me, ‘Do you know which batsman is a nightmare for the bowler in slog overs?’ I asked, ‘Is it Dhoni?’ Kohli said, ‘No, it’s Rohit. When I asked him the reason, he said you won’t know where to bowl.”

Rohit Sharma is displaying exceptional form in the ongoing Asia Cup 2023. The right-handed opening batsman has impressively notched up three consecutive half-centuries against Nepal, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka. As it stands, he stands as the top run-scorer in the tournament.

In his innings against Sri Lanka, Rohit achieved a significant milestone, becoming only the sixth Indian cricketer to reach the 10,000-run mark in ODIs, joining the elite ranks alongside Sachin Tendulkar, Sourav Ganguly, Rahul Dravid, Virat Kohli, and MS Dhoni. It’s noteworthy that Rohit has already recorded three double centuries in ODIs, with his highest score being a remarkable 264 runs against Sri Lanka.
