Bangladesh scored 256/8 in their first innings against India in Pune

Bangladesh captain Najmul Hossain Shanto chose to bat after winning the toss. Tanzid Hasan (51) and Litton Das (66) provided the team with a strong beginning, forging a 93-run opening partnership. Tanzid played aggressively, taking on the bowlers, while Litton started cautiously at the other end.

Kuldeep Yadav provided the initial breakthrough by removing Tanzid Hasan in the 15th over. This breakthrough changed the course of the game as India’s bowlers struck quickly to get back into the contest. Although Litton completed his fifty, he didn’t last long, as he attempted aggressive play and got out.

Mushfiqur Rahim contributed 38 runs, and Mahmudullah scored 46 runs in the lower middle order to help Bangladesh reach a total of 256/8 in their 50 overs. In the bowling department, India’s Jasprit Bumrah, Ravindra Jadeja, and Mohammed Siraj each took two wickets.

Jadeja said:

“I think, wicket looks very good, not much turn on the wicket and if we play just normal cricket, we should get the job done. (About the celebration after the catch) Celebration was for our fielding catch, after every game, we get the best fielder’s award and I was telling him to look at me.”

He added:

“The wicket was good, with even bounce and it’s flat, the ball was coming on nicely and hopefully our batters go out there and chase it down easily. You have to bowl into the stumps, can’t bowl anywhere else, keep it with tight lines and bowl according to the field.”
