South Africa will face the Netherlands in their 3rd encounter to be played at HPCA Stadium, Dharamshala on 17th October 2023. It promises to be an exciting fixture as South Africa won the previous two matches against Australia and Sri Lanka comfortably.

This will be the first day and night fixture at this venue. On the other hand, the Netherlands lost the first two matches against Pakistan and New Zealand. They need to step up with some lovely performances and put up a fight.

Both teams have good quality players who can change the fortune of the game with their abilities.

Here we look at the 5 Players to look out for

  1. Quinton de Kock

Quinton de Kock has been in excellent form with 2nd successive century against Australia at Lucknow. He put pressure on the Aussies pacers hitting boundaries with ease and keeping the momentum going for South Africa.

He will look to create an impact in tomorrow’s match with positive intent in the first 10 overs and keep the momentum going for South Africa. He was dismissed cheaply for 8 against Netherlands in 3rd ODI played this year. If de Kock can continue his superb form, then South Africa will be able to win their 3rd successive match in the tournament.

  1. Colin Ackermann

The right-handed Colin Ackermann had a decent outing in the previous match against New Zealand. The Netherlands lost the early wicket of Vikramjit Singh, but Ackermann looked impressive showing intent and keeping the scoreboard ticking.

He would look to impress against top-quality South African bowling. Colin Ackermann made well well-compliant half-century in chase of 323. His role is to provide stability if one of the openers fails to give a start.

It will be interesting to see if the experienced Ackermann can score runs against top-quality South African bowling and could do damage with his batting.

  1. Aiden Markram

After scoring the fastest century in the opening match against Sri Lanka, Markram proved his worth with a quickfire half-century against Australia. He came to the crease after the wicket of Rassie Van der Dussen.

He showed his class by putting enough pressure on the Australian bowling. Markram scored with a quick pace that allowed South Africa to post a decent total in Lucknow. It was a superb batting effort by the middle-order batter. Markram would play a key role in the middle overs to provide the impetus and make life tough for Netherlands bowlers.

  1. Bas de Leede

Bas de Leede had a disappointing outing in the previous match with both and the ball against New Zealand. He went for 64 runs in his 10 overs picking up 1 wicket including a 20-run last over.

He looked impressive with positive intent, but a superb relay catch ended his innings. De Leede would be looking for the all-round effort that he displayed against Pakistan. If de Leede could replicate his all-round effort against South Africa, the Netherlands can upset and register their first win of the tournament.

  1. Kagiso Rabada

Kagiso Rabada had a dream outing in the previous match against Australia. He bowled with aggression and troubled openers. It was a dream spell that put the match away from the 5-time Champion Aussies.

Rabada was superb with pace and accuracy. He picked 3 wickets giving away 33 runs in his 8 overs. His role is to pick early wickets on a pitch that might help the pacers initially. His ability to bowl quickly will trouble the Netherlands openers and create damage with the new ball helping South Africa win their 3rd successive match.
