Jasprit Bumrah and Kuldeep Yadav played a crucial role in causing a remarkable collapse of the Pakistan cricket team, securing four wickets and contributing to India’s dominant win at the Cricket World Cup on Saturday. In front of a massive crowd of over 100,000 fans at Narendra Modi Stadium, India won by seven wickets, marking their eighth consecutive World Cup victory over Pakistan, a streak that began in 1992.

Bumrah bowled impressively, taking 2-19 in seven overs, while Yadav claimed 2-35 in 10 overs. Pakistan, after a strong start at 155-2 in the 29.3 overs, tumbled to 191 all out in 42.5 overs, with five of India’s six bowlers taking two wickets each.

Subsequently, India’s captain Rohit Sharma showcased his brilliance with a 36-ball half-century, leading India to an almost effortless victory with nearly 20 overs to spare. Sharma’s excellent innings of 86 runs off 63 balls, including six fours and six sixes, helped India finish at 192-3 in just 30.3 overs.

This victory propelled India to the top of the table with six points, ahead of New Zealand on net run-rate, following three consecutive wins. Pakistan, experiencing their first loss of the tournament, stands fourth in the points table with four points from three games.

The match began with Pakistan batting, where Abdullah Shafique (20) and Imam ul Haq (36) provided a steady start. However, India’s Mohammed Siraj made a breakthrough by dismissing Shafique for 20 runs. Imam and Pakistan’s captain, Babar Azam, then added 32 runs for the second wicket.

Azam and Mohammed Rizwan put up a determined partnership of 82 runs for the third wicket, which included some DRS reviews. Azam scored a well-crafted 50 off 58 balls, but the turning point came when Siraj returned to the attack, bowling out the Pakistan captain.

The enthusiastic crowd erupted in joy, and from that moment, India dominated the game under the leadership of Sharma.
