ICC Cricket World Cup 2023: [WATCH]- A Fan Was Stopped From Chanting ‘Pakistan Zindabad’ During The AUS vs PAK Match In Bangalore

A Pakistani fan showed his frustration when he was told not to cheer for his team during the 2023 World Cup match against Australia at the M.Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru on Friday, October 20.

This occurred in the latter part of the game while Pakistan was batting. In the video, the fan can be seen in a dispute with a police officer after being advised not to shout ‘Pakistan Zindabad’.

He highlighted that the Indian fans in his vicinity were chanting ‘Bharat Mata Ki Jai,’ so he questioned why he wasn’t permitted to support his own nation.

The fan mentioned that he had traveled from Pakistan to show support for his team. Eventually, the police officer concluded the interaction by leaving.

On Friday, Pakistan experienced their second back-to-back defeat in the 2023 World Cup

Australia won the match against Babar Azam’s team in Bengaluru on Friday with a margin of 62 runs. The game saw high scores, with Australia posting a big total of 367/9 after batting first.

In the second half of the match, Pakistan had a good chance for most of the time but couldn’t maintain it until the end. Abdullah Shafique (64) and Imam-ul-Haq (70) scored over fifty runs each, setting a solid starting point for their team.

Mohammad Rizwan (46), Saud Shakeel (30), and Iftikhar Ahmed (26) made decent starts in the middle order, but none of them managed to build on their innings and score big. Consequently, the Pakistani team was dismissed for 305 runs in 45.3 overs, resulting in their loss.

After the match, Babar Azam shared his thoughts during the post-match presentation:

“To be honest and we weren’t up to the mark and if you drop catch of a batter like Warner, they’ll make you pay and the margin of error on this ground is very less on a ground like this. All credit to fast bowlers and spinners, we came back well in the last 10 overs and we hit the right lengths and targeted the stumps.”

Babar added:

“Message was simple, we could do it and needed partnerships at the top of the order, we started well and we got only small partnerships, that hurt us in the end. We will try to correct the mistakes from this game, we need to focus on building big parnerships.”
