ICC Cricket World Cup 2023: [WATCH]- Jasprit Bumrah Delivers A Lethal Yorker To Dismiss Mahmudullah

Jasprit Bumrah, the elite fast bowler, showcased his skills in the 2023 World Cup clash between India and Bangladesh at Pune’s MCA Stadium on October 19. He delivered an extraordinary yorker to dismiss Mahmudullah and concluded with a 2/41 record.

The wicket occurred in the 50th over of Bangladesh’s innings. Bumrah unleashed a precise yorker with a fuller length. Mahmudullah raised his left leg and attempted to defend, but the ball sneaked past the inside edge.

Consequently, Mahmadullah fell short of achieving his fifty, scoring 46 runs from 36 balls, which featured three sixes and three boundaries. Earlier, Bumrah had removed Mushfiqur Rahim (38 off 46) thanks to a remarkable catch by Ravindra Jadeja.

With two dismissals in the match against Bangladesh, Bumrah has now taken a total of 10 wickets in the prestigious ICC tournament. His standout performance came against Afghanistan, where he registered impressive figures of 4/39.

Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Siraj, and Ravindra Jadeja have held Bangladesh to a total of 256/8

India’s superb bowling display limited Bangladesh to 256/8, even though Litton Das and Tanzid Hasan had a strong 93-run opening partnership. Ravindra Jadeja, Mohammed Siraj, and Jasprit Bumrah each took two wickets, while Shardul Thakur and Kuldeep Yadav chipped in with one wicket each.

Das played a key role with the bat, making 66 off 82 balls with seven boundaries. Tanzid added 51 runs off 43 balls, including three sixes and five boundaries. Mahmdullah and Rahim made valuable contributions of 46 (36) and 38 (46), respectively, to push Bangladesh’s total beyond 250.

Bangladesh’s stand-in captain, Najmul Hossain Shanto, couldn’t make a significant contribution with the bat and was dismissed for just eight runs off 17 deliveries.

On the other hand, India’s all-rounder Hardik Pandya suffered a left ankle injury after bowling only three balls in the match. According to the rules, he can only bat after 120 minutes have passed following the fall of five wickets, if needed.

Rohit Sharma and his team aim to secure their fourth victory in the World Cup, continuing their winning streak from the first three games against Australia, Afghanistan, and Pakistan.
