Pakistan speedster Naseem Shah had a successful shoulder injury after he was ruled out of the 2023 World Cup. His manager Moghees Sheikh also shared the good news and hoped that he would return to the Pakistan team soon.

Naseem Shah was the pick of bowlers for Pakistan as he went past the bat of Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill several times. He suffered a shoulder injury while delivering his final over in the Super 4 match of Asia Cup 2023 in Colombo. He went off the field and did not come back to bat as Pakistan was decimated by India with a 228-run margin. Naseem was ruled out of the do-or-die match against Sri Lanka as Zaman Khan replaced him.

Pakistan could not qualify for the finals as they lost the match by 2 wickets. He was ruled out of the entire World Cup due to the same injury and Hasan Ali replaced him for the tournament. Babar Azam and Co has struggled with their bowling in the two warm-up matches against New Zealand and Australia at Hyderabad.

The chief selector Inzamam UL Haq said that Naseem Shah could be ruled out of action for the entire year which will be a massive blow as Pakistan will travel for 3 match Test series to Australia.

The trio of Naseem, Shaheen, and Haris Rauf did most of the damage till the Super 4 match against India. Since then, Pakistan’s bowling has been struggling as they could not defend 252 in 42 overs against Sri Lanka and could not qualify for the finals of the continental event.

Pakistan will start their World Cup tournament against the Netherlands on 6th October at Rajiv Gandhi Stadium, Hyderabad, and hope to start well with a win.
