Before their ICC Cricket World Cup clash with India, key players from the Netherlands, including captain Scott Edwards and all-rounder Bas de Leede, expressed their admiration for Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli. The unbeaten Indian team is set to face the Netherlands in Bengaluru for their final league fixture, already securing a spot in the semifinals with an impressive eight wins.
Despite the Netherlands’ challenging position at the bottom with only two wins, they aim to secure a top-eight finish for a spot in the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 in Pakistan. However, facing the undefeated hosts poses a formidable challenge for the Dutch team. Captain Edwards acknowledged Rohit Sharma’s prolific run-scoring in the format, while all-rounder Bas praised his impeccable timing, highlighting the tough task ahead for the men in Orange.
Bas De Leede said: “The way he times the ball is better than anyone else. Cannot wait to play against him, but not looking to bowl against him.”
Max O Dowd exclusively said: “He is an unbelievable player. He is a great leader of the Indian side.”
Vikramjit Singh, Max’s opening partner, emphasized Rohit’s excellence as an opening batter, stating, “We are well aware of his exceptional skills; he stands among the finest opening batters.”
