India has a last chance to prepare for the 2023 World Cup
India’s warm-up match against England was cancelled due to rain, but they have the opportunity to play a complete game against The Netherlands on October 3 in Thiruvananthapuram as their final warm-up before the World Cup begins.
The Asia Cup and the series against Australia have been fruitful in terms of fine-tuning the squad for the Indian team. Nevertheless, there are specific aspects they need to concentrate on, such as providing more batting opportunities to players like Ravindra Jadeja and Ravichandran Ashwin.
Runs scored by the lower middle-order batsmen can play a vital role in the World Cup. With Axar Patel unavailable, players like Jadeja, Ashwin, and even Shardul Thakur may be required to contribute in the late stages of the innings.
India’s World Cup Squad:
Rohit Sharma (c), Shubman Gill, Suryakumar Yadav, Virat Kohli, Ishan Kishan (wk), Shreyas Iyer, KL Rahul (wk), Hardik Pandya, Ravindra Jadeja, Kuldeep Yadav, Shardul Thakur, Jasprit Bumrah, Ravichandran Ashwin, Mohammed Siraj, Mohammed Shami.
