Rohit Sharma and Co registered a thumping 10-wicket win over Sri Lanka in the finals of Asia Cup 2023 played in Colombo. Mohammed Siraj bowled a dream spell with figures of 6 for 21 including 4 wickets dismissing Pathum Nissanka, Sadeera Samawickrama, Charith Asalanaka, and Dhanajaya de Silva to put the Lankan team under immense pressure.
He then grabbed wickets of Dasun Shanaka and Kusal Mendis ending the hopes of the hosts. The last time Australia met India in Chennai in 2023, the Australian team registered a comfortable victory that helped them to win the series.
Australian team warm-up matches had some action as Mitchell Starc took a hattrick against Netherlands while Steve Smith scored valuable runs but the match ended in no result. The second warm-up match was a high high-scoring affair as Australia made 351 for 7 in 50 overs. Australia won the match by 14 runs as Marnus Labuschagne, Steve Smith and David Warner bowled most of the overs during yesterday’s match at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, Hyderabad.
