Shami, who dismantled the Kiwis’ batting lineup, shared a touching moment with Ashwin. Ashwin shook hands and kissed Shami’s hand, expressing appreciation for Shami’s 7-wicket haul in the semifinals.

Shami autographed some bats, and then Chahal met the players, warmly greeting Virat, Bumrah, and Kishan. Kohli had a chat with his former Royal Challengers Bangalore teammate.

In the game, India chose to bat, posting 397/4 in 50 overs. Captain Rohit Sharma (47 in 29 balls, with four boundaries and four sixes) and Shubman Gill (80 in 66 balls, with eight fours and three sixes) provided a strong start with a 71-run opening partnership.

New Zealand’s captain Kane Williamson and Daryl Mitchell formed a partnership to bring the Kiwis back into contention. However, Shami’s impressive seven-wicket haul left the Blackcaps struggling, and India secured a 70-run win.

The team India will face in the final is pending, awaiting the outcome of the second semi-final between South Africa and Australia at the iconic Eden Gardens in Kolkata on Thursday.
