Team India skipper Rohit Sharma expressed that the team management is extremely clear about who should be in India’s final squad for the 2023 ICC ODI World Cup. He also shared that he was extremely satisfied with his team’s preparation for the World Cup.

India won the three-match ODI series against Australia 2-1 on Wednesday, September 27 in Rajkot. They also defeated Sri Lanka in the Asia Cup finals earlier this year. Talking about India’s preparations, skipper Rohit Sharma said at the post-match presentation after the final ODI against Australia,

“The last 7-8 ODIs we’ve played really well in different conditions. We were challenged at different times and we took that challenge really well. Unfortunately, not the result we wanted today but I’m not going to look too much into this game. We’ve been playing really well.”

Team India’s final squad for the World Cup is expected to be announced on Thursday, September 28. Axar Patel might miss out due to a quadriceps tear, while Ravichandran Ashwin is likely to be named as his replacement.

“When we talk about the 15-man squad we are very clear on what we want and the guys who will do the job for us. We’re not confused. We know exactly where we are heading,” said Rohit Sharma on the final 15-member squad at the presentation ceremony.

I’m pretty happy: Rohit Sharma on his form

Overall he has scored 10112 runs at an average of 48.85, including 30 centuries and 52 fifties. Talking about his form, the Indian skipper said,

“I’m pretty happy (with my form). Of course, I’d like to go all the way but as long as I’m hitting like that I’m happy.”
