ICC ODI World Cup 2023: Jay Shah Gives ‘Golden Ticket’ To The Legendary Actor Rajinikanth

BCCI Secretary Jay Shah has gifted a golden ticket for the 2023 World Cup to the iconic actor Rajinikanth. The official image shared by the Indian cricket governing body shows Shah handing over the ticket to the megastar for the tournament scheduled in India from October 5 to November 19.

Prior to Rajinikanth, BCCI had previously honored Sachin Tendulkar and Amitabh Bachchan with the golden ticket for the 2023 World Cup. The board has been recognizing eminent figures from various domains in India by gifting them a unique pass for the prestigious tournament.

In a recent communication on X, the BCCI stated:

“The Phenomenon Beyond Cinema! The BCCI Honorary Secretary @JayShah presented the golden ticket to Shri @rajinikanth, the true embodiment of charisma and cinematic brilliance. The legendary actor has left an indelible mark on the hearts of millions, transcending language and culture.”

“We are thrilled to announce that Thalaiva will grace the @ICC @cricketworldcup 2023 as our distinguished guest and will light up the biggest cricketing spectacle with his presence. #GoldenTicket,” BCCI added.”

Fans praised the BCCI for gifting Rajinikanth a golden ticket to the 2023 World Cup. The tweet posted by the board garnered over 13,000 likes within two hours.

Previously, the BCCI Secretary honored Sachin Tendulkar with the ‘Golden Ticket’ on September 8, and Amitabh Bachchan received this special ticket on September 5.

India’s World Cup journey will commence on October 8 against Australia at Chennai’s Chidambaram Stadium. During the league stage, they will participate in eight matches.

The much-anticipated India vs. Pakistan clash, initially scheduled for October 15 in Ahmedabad, has been rescheduled to October 14 at the same venue.

There’s been an overwhelming demand for India’s World Cup match tickets, causing multiple crashes of the online ticket platform.
