The South Africa Cricket Team will take on the Afghanistan cricket team in the second warm-up match of the ICC ODI World Cup 2023 on Friday, September 29 at the Greenfield International Stadium, Thiruvananthapuram. They will be riding high on confidence owing to their brilliant performance in the recent ODI series. 

South Africa was trailing 2-0 after the first two matches in the five-match ODI series against Australia at home. However, they made a remarkable comeback to win the series defeating Australia in the remaining three matches. Meanwhile, Afghanistan did not have a great outing in the Asia Cup 2023. They lost both of their league-stage matches.
