David Warner will be the player to watch out for as Ashes rivals Australia and England lock horns in the ICC T20 World Cup 2021 from group A. Both the teams have won their first two games, heading into this contest of immense importance. Warner, meanwhile came back to form against Sri Lanka scoring 65 off 42 balls in a chase of 155.

Meanwhile, former Australian spinner Brad Hogg has suggested on how the England bowlers can dismiss David Warner. Warner was troubled by the England pacers with the ball coming in and going away. Thus, Hogg said that someone like Chris Woakes who gets the ball to swing both ways can trouble the southpaw.

“His initial trigger movement puts his back leg right behind his front leg. This allows him to get more room to play on the leg side but also transfers the body weight. Someone like a Chris Woakes can bowl wide, and get an edge while Warner tries to play away from his body” said Hogg on his Youtube channel.

Chris Woakes had dismissed Warner in the semi-finals of the 2019 World Cup with an edge taken by Jos Buttler behind the stumps. Meanwhile, in a critical observation, Hogg noted that Warner’s trigger movement stops as he gets into his innings and gets into scoring runs. Thus the former spinner said that Warner is better off bowling short balls during this phase as it will force him to get back and might get out to the bouncers.

Bowing Bouncers A Good Option To Dismiss David Warner: Brad Hogg

“As the innings progresses his trigger movement stops. And then you can tell he’s confident at the crease. In that case someone like a Tymal Mills, who has a little extra pace can deliver a bouncer.”

Having won their first two games, either Australia or England will face their first defeat of the tournament tonight.
