Jasprit Bumrah bagged figures of 2/10 against Scotland and in the process overtook Yuzvendra Chahal as India’s highest wicket-taker in T20I cricket. India bowled out Scotland for a mere 85 and needs to chase them down quickly to better their net run rate. Meanwhile, Bumrah now has 64 wickets for India in the format, overtaking Chahal’s tally of 63.

Yuzvendra Chahal was not included in the tournament. Rahul Chahar and Varun Chakravarthy was included in the squad in place of him. India felt the absence of Chahal in the first two games where they could not take many wickets.

Jasprit Bumrah Bowled A Spell Of 2/10

India have some tough equations to chase 86 down now and win the game. Their net run-rate currently is +0.073. They need to chase it down inside 8.5 overs to go past NZ’s net run-rate which is (+1.277). They need to chase down the total inside 7.1 overs to go past Afghanistan’s net run rate which is (+1.481).

Ravindra Jadeja bowled a spell of 3/15 against Scotland. This now is his best figures in the format. He got two of those wickets in one over not allowing the Scotland innings to gain any momentum.

“We bowled very well. This is what we planned – to bowl in the right areas and get them out early. Odd ball was spinning, odd one went straight. I was just looking to bowl in the right area and the wicket was doing the work. We wanted to bowl so that we can take full advantage of the pitch (with three spinners). Finally we won the toss today. Yes, dew seems to have come in now. It does play a big part in the second innings. They have not got a big score. Yes we will look to chase it down early” he said in the mid-innings break.
