ICC T20 World Cup 2021: Memes Flood In On Twitter For Afghanistan vs New Zealand Game

Afghanistan vs New Zealand

Afghanistan take on New Zealand in their last league game from group 2 in Abu Dhabi. The Afghan side can finish on six points if they beat the Kiwis in the game who are on six points as well. An Afghanistan win will brighten India’s chances of making the semi-finals given that they are almost sure to beat Namibia in their last game on Monday. India also have the best net run-rate in the group to boost their possibilities as well.

The whole of India are now hoping for a miracle with Afghanistan beating New Zealand in the game later tonight. Memes of various kinds are being shared on Twitter about the possibility of the impossible almost.

India lost their first two games against Pakistan and New Zealand. This was the first time India lost to Pakistan in ICC T20 World Cup. They lost their next game against New Zealand to make matters worse.

However, the Men in Blue bounced back with two big wins in their next two games against Afghanistan and Namibia. They now have their T20 World Cup campaign hanging by a thread. If Afghanistan beats New Zealand, India are alive in the campaign. However, a Kiwi win will eliminate them from the contest.

Shoaib Akhtar said that an Afghanistan win can actually divide the cricket world into two halves. He further said that social media will be flooded with mixed reactions if the Afghans win and make it easy for India’s way to the semis.

“India’s fate is now in New Zealand’s hands. If New Zealand lose [to Afghanistan] a lot of questions will be raised, I’m warning you. I’m afraid that it will become another trending topic. I don’t want to get into any controversy but sentiments of Pakistanis are really high at the moment as far as New Zealand is concerned,” said the Rawalpindi Express on his official YouTube channel.

“I think New Zealand are better than Afghanistan. If, God forbid, they don’t play well and lose, that will be a problem. Nobody will be able to stop social media if it happens and we have to take that into consideration,” he added.
