England put out a professional performance to get past their Ashes rivals in the ICC T20 World Cup 2021 by eight wickets. In the process, they have topped the table in group one, while the Aussies just with one defeat have fallen below South Africa in the table with a negative net run-rate. The Aussies play Bangladesh and Australia in their final two games while England awaits Sri Lanka and South Africa.
England rode on Jos Buttler’s unbeaten 71 off 32 balls to track 126 needed to win inside12 overs. In the process, they have done a massive boost to their net run-rate. The match was set up by the England bowlers who took wickets at regular intervals letting them not to settle. With the bat, the opening stand of 66 within the powerplay set up the chase brilliantly.
Chris Jordan took three wickets as Chris Woakes and Tymal Mills took two each to bowl out Australia for 125. The Dubai with all its reputation of reacting to the dew played way better in the second half as England cantered through to the target. Eoin MOrgan won the toss and since then got every move of his in place to ensure that they remain the only unbeaten team from group 1.
Twitter reacted to England’s dominating win in the game. It was a clinical performance from the Three Lions that garnered a lot of accolades.
This is How Twitter Reacted to England’s Win.
Now that is a message to the rest … England are the best team & most destructive … Whose going to stop them !?? Only #Pakistan look likely at this stage #T20WorldCup

What a win for England! All theories about the nature of the pitch and strength of Aussie bowling reduced to desert sand. After SA’s win over Sri Lanka today, this group is getting really exciting

Yes, England and Pakistan have had a great start to the tournament but quite surprised to see pundits already predicting a final between these two teams. Still early days, write India off at your own peril. #T20WorldCup

Only thing remaining to see if how these sides fair while batting first. Sure they will find a way but for now, England and Pakistan both look favourites.

“Obviously we got off to a good start in the first two games of the tournament and challenge first is always adapting to the conditions away from home and we did that really in the first two games and then again today, the big test against a really strong Australian side. We sort of held up pretty well right from the beginning, holding our nerve and creating opportunities with the ball and then continuing to be relentless with the lengths we want to bowl. We are in good form with the bat. Jason last game and Jos today. We treat everybody with same amount of respect. We go to Sharjah from here and again another challenge there and we are really looking forward to it” said Morgan at the post-match presentation.
England play their last two league games in Sharjah.
