ICC T20 World Cup 2021: “We Are Going To See An India-Pakistan Final” – Parthiv Patel

India vs Pakistan

Former Indian wicketkeeper batsmen Parthiv Patel feels that India and Pakistan will make it to the final of the ongoing ICC T20 World Cup 2021. According to him, both these teams are the best 2 teams to compete against each other in the huge mega event final.

Pakistan defeated India by 10 wickets in their very first match at the Dubai International Stadium of this ICC T20 World cup 2021. This is the first time Pakistan has even defeated India in a World Cup game. The Babar Azam-led Pakistan continued their good form and registered their second victory against the Kane Williamson led New Zealand on Tuesday, October 26.

Virat and Co will next face the Kane Williamson-led side on Sunday, October 31. India and New Zealand both will face each other to register their first win in this mega event.

However, Parthiv Patel has predicted India and Pakistan to play the final of the ICC T20 World cup 2021. Both the teams have faced each other in a T20 World Cup final back in 2007 where MS-Dhoni led India came out to be victorious.

“We are going to see an India-Pakistan final. These are the two best teams in the competition. It’s going to be those two teams in the final,” Patel said.

“I am sure this Indian team knows they have to win all their games” – Parthiv Patel

Patel further added that Pakistan winning against the Black Caps is good news for India, and the Virat Kohli-led Indian side wouldn’t be worried about their defeat in the first match to Pakistan

“I think it definitely suits India more. But if I had been in the Indian dressing room, I wouldn’t have been worried about the other games. It’s quite simple. When you go into a World Cup, you focus on your things.

He further added:

“I am sure this Indian team knows they have to win all their games. They wouldn’t have been worried about whether New Zealand won or Pakistan won as long as India wins everything,” the former wicket-keeper batsman added.

Moreover, Former West Indies world-class batsmen Brian Lara stated that when the opposition team beats your team, you want them to win every game.

“I have been a captain. Let me tell you something, the team that beats you in a tournament, you want them to go and win every single match. It sets you up properly. India now has to beat New Zealand. Of course, they have other games to play but Pakistan running away at the top is perfect for India to sort of look for that second spot,” Brian Lara told Star Sports.
