What has been Rohit Sharma’s performance like in the T20 World Cup thus far?

Rohit Sharma has emerged as one of India’s top batsmen in this World Cup. Following a lackluster performance in the IPL 2024 season with the Mumbai Indians (MI), he commenced his T20 World Cup campaign with an impressive unbeaten half-century.

In pursuit of a modest target of 97 against Ireland, the Indian team faced an early setback with the dismissal of Virat Kohli. However, Rohit provided stability with a crucial innings of 52 runs off 37 deliveries before retiring hurt.

During his innings, the right-handed batsman struck four boundaries and three sixes. However, Rohit couldn’t make an impact against Pakistan, getting out for 13 runs from 12 balls. Attempting to clear the mid-wicket fielder, he was caught by Haris Rauf off Shaheen Shah Afridi’s delivery.

Despite his efforts, the 37-year-old batsman couldn’t find the desired connection to clear the boundary on the large ground. Rohit Sharma will aim to regain his form when India faces the USA in New York on Wednesday, June 12.
