ICC T20 World Cup: Twitter Erupts After India And Pakistan Are Placed In The Same Group

ICC has finally announced the groups for T20 World Cup 2021. Two of the biggest rivals in cricket history; India and Pakistan are placed in the same group. Virat Kohli-led Indian team will face Babar Azam-led Pakistan in high profile battle. Group 2 contains 3 big names including India, Pakistan, and World Test Champions New Zealand.

The World Cup is scheduled to start on October 17 (Sunday) and will end on Sunday, 14 November 2021. The face-off between India and Pakistan will be the highlight of the tournament. Notably, this will be the first time when Babar Azam and Virat Kohli will face each other as a captain.

Also So far Pakistan has been unable to defeat India in the T20 World Cup encounters. India has managed to win all the games against rival Pakistan in T20 World Cup history. All games of the marquee tournament will be played in four venues including, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, Dubai, and Oman.

When the last time these two teams faced each other India won the match comfortably. Pakistan was unable to post a big target for India and hence ended on the losing side. Pakistan posted 118 runs at the loss of 5 wickets in 18 overs.

Meanwhile, India won the match by 6 wickets chasing 119 runs with 13 balls remaining. Virat Kohli was awarded the man of the match award for his brilliant half-century.
