ICC World Cup Qualifiers 2023: WI vs OMA – Match 7, Super Sixes, Match Details, Pitch Report, Weather Report, Playing XI, Fantasy Tips

The 7th match of the Super Sixes round in the ICC World Cup Qualifier 2023 will witness a clash between West Indies and Oman at Harare Sports Club in Harare on July 5.

West Indies have had a disappointing run, losing all three of their previous matches and currently occupy the fifth position in the standings. On the other hand, Oman has also struggled, losing all four of their games and finding themselves at the bottom of the table.

Oman’s most recent match was against the Netherlands, where they won the toss and chose to field. The Netherlands took full advantage of the excellent batting conditions and piled up a formidable total of 362 runs.

Vikramjit Singh played an outstanding innings and was recognized as the Player of the Match for his century. Wesley Baressi also contributed with a brilliant knock of 97 runs, falling just short of a well-deserved century. Due to rain, the target was revised to 321 runs from 44 overs.

Ayaan Khan scored a splendid century, but his efforts were in vain as the other batsmen couldn’t provide enough support, resulting in a 74-run victory for the Netherlands (by DLS Method).

In their previous match, West Indies faced Scotland, with Scotland winning the toss and electing to bowl. West Indies struggled right from the start, losing four wickets with just 30 runs on the board.

Their lower middle order made some contributions, but they were ultimately bowled out for a below-par total of 181 runs. Scotland lost an early wicket but managed to build a solid partnership for the second wicket.

They only lost three wickets during the chase and comfortably reached the target with over six overs to spare. Brandon McMullen was named the Player of the Match for his valuable contributions with both bat and ball.

Match Details:

Match: West Indies (WI) vs Oman (OMA), Match 7, Super Sixes of the ICC CWC Qualifier 2023

Date: July 5, 2023, Wednesday

Venue: Harare Sports Club, Harare

Pitch Report:

The pitch at Harare Sports Club is inclined towards benefiting batsmen rather than bowlers. However, as the ball ages, pacers can pose challenges to the batsmen during the latter part of the innings.

Batsmen have the opportunity to take advantage of the pitch’s batting-friendly nature and accumulate a high number of runs. Considering the average first innings score of 281, chasing the target would be a preferable choice in this venue.

Weather Report:

No rain is expected during the match between the West Indies and Oman in Harare, as the weather forecast predicts bright and sunny conditions.
