“I’d Love For Him To Save All Of His Energy For Australia” – Pat Cummins On Cameron Green’s Potential IPL Contract

Several prominent international players like Pat Cummins and Sam Billings have pulled out from the upcoming edition of the IPL, citing international commitments. Cameron Green is one of the players likely to start a bidding war amongst the ten franchises due to his three-dimensional abilities. A hard-hitting batter who can cross 140 kmph on occasion and is an excellent operator in the field.

Green’s impressive performance in the T20I series versus India in September caught people’s attention to his abilities. Opening in David Warner’s absence he seemed to capitalise on his opportunities. He scored 118 runs in three matches at a staggering strike rate of 214.55 and brought up a couple of half-centuries too.

Green was called as a replacement for Josh Inglis in the recently concluded T20 World Cup.

“Selfishly as a captain, I’d love for him to save all of his energy for Australia” – Pat Cummins on Green

Pat Cummins, who has pulled out of the IPL, commented on this while speaking to SEN radio, “Yeah, potentially (if Green will enrol himself in the IPL auction). We’ll wait and see, I think the auction is a little while away. Selfishly as a captain, I’d love for him to save all of his energy for Australia, but how can you tell someone to say no to that kind of opportunity?

Australia has a packed schedule in the coming months. First, they play a 3-match ODI series versus England, followed by three tests versus South Africa and two against West Indies. They will also fly to England in June to defend the Ashes. Also, they will be touring India for a four-match test series.

In this edition of the Big Bash League, he will be dawning the orange jersey of defending champions, Perth Scorchers. Green is another power pack edition to the likes of Mitchell Marsh and Ashton Turner.
