Former Pakistan player Shahid Afridi has predicted his winner in tomorrow’s semi-final between India and England. He believes Jos Buttler and Co. will compete for the trophy in Melbourne on Sunday, November 13.

However, he has acknowledged that both teams have a balanced team and have played good cricket in the group stages. India will start as favourites, given their head-to-head record versus them, even though England’s batting line-up is much more destructive.

Earlier this year, England lost to India 2-1 in a T20-I series in their backyard. Speaking to SAMAA TV, Shahid Afridi said England has 60-65 % more chances than India.

“Both the teams are equally balanced and performed well at the tournament. Even their past performances have been good. But in my opinion, I’ll keep England 60-65 per cent above India.

“I feel their combination is extremely good if we pick batting or bowling, even the spinners. However, it’s a big match, and the team which will make less mistakes, and the team where are all the 11 players will put 100 percent effort will win.”

India and England have some injury concerns ahead of 2nd semi-final

Both teams have some injury concerns in their respective camps. England batter Dawid Malan has a groin injury and will most likely be replaced by Phil Salt. Also, pacer Mark Wood has pulled up at a train station and will have to undergo a fitness test. India Captain Rohit Sharma was also hot during a team training session.

England won three games and had one washout while qualifying for the semi-finals, while India won four of their five games, and their only loss came against the Proteas.

Adelaide Oval is expected to host a spectacle as two powerhouses of cricket will collide to battle for a place in the finals.
