The explosive right-handed batter Prithvi Shaw showed his batting skills with a superb 159 runs for Mumbai against Chhattisgarh during the sixth-round match of the Ranji Trophy season at Raipur. It was a brilliant knock by Shaw that put pressure back on the bowlers. He scored 159 off 185 deliveries with 18 fours and 3 sixes that helped Mumbai post 352 in the first innings.

After his injury, this was his second game. He suffered a knee injury during the Royal One-day International Cup playing for Northamptonshire. Before this match, he looked impressive against Bengal making 35 but was not able to convert into a big score.

“I’m not thinking too far off and want to stay in the present,” Prithvi Shaw told The Indian Express. “There is no expectation, I’m happy that I’m back playing cricket. I have just come back after injury and just want to give my best. I aim to win the Ranji Trophy for Mumbai and I’m trying to achieve that by contributing as much as I can going ahead.”

Prithvi Shaw missed the 2023 season due to an injury including Syed Mushtaq Ali and Vijay Hazare Trophy. He would be hoping for good performances in the 2024 Indian Premier League for Delhi Capitals. He had a disappointing outing for Delhi Capitals in the 2023 edition of IPL. Shaw made just 106 runs from 8 matches with best score of 54.
