IND vs AFG: “2 Super Overs, 36 Runs In An Over” – Records Tumble In The Third T20I

Team India secured a dramatic win in the third T20I against Afghanistan on Wednesday, January 16 at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru, whitewashing the series. The match was historic, witnessing several records being broken, including two tie-breakers.

Batting first, India managed 212 runs on the board on the back of a great partnership between Rinku Singh and Rohit Sharma. The duo put on 190 runs for the fifth-wicket partnership. Rohit Sharma slammed 121 runs, while Rinku scored 69. In response, the top three Afghanistan batters, Rahmanullah Gurbaz, Ibrahim Zadran and Gulbadin Naib slammed half-centuries each. Mohammad Nabi also played a fine knock to help tie the match.

The first superover between the two teams also ended in a tie. Afghanistan scored 16 runs. India needed two off the final delivery, but Yashasvi Jaiswal could only manage one. The match was forced to go into another super over, where India managed to score 12 runs. Ravi Bishnoi pulled off a heroic performance as he took wickets in the second super over, conceding just one run.
