Australia named 18-member squad for the upcoming 3-match ODI series against India to be played from 22nd September 2023. They have included Steve Smith, and Glenn Maxwell into the squad as they were recovering from injuries.
Steve Smith, Glenn Maxwell, and Pat Cummins did not take part in the 5 match ODI series against South Africa due to injuries. It will be an ideal preparation for the Australian team as they will face the Indian team before the World Cup in 2023.
Travis Head has been not included in the squad due to a finger injury that he suffered during the 4th ODI. Ashton Agar played in the first ODI match against South Africa but did not take part in the remaining matches due to soreness.
Cameron Green has also been included in the squad as he was hit by a bouncer in the first ODI match against South Africa. He returned for the final ODI in the playing XI and will also be a part of the India series.
Pat Cummins will lead the side and hope to get match practice before the WC 2023. It looks like a strong unit that comprises top-quality batters including Warner, Mitchell Marsh, Glenn Maxwell, Labuschagne, Cameron Green, and Josh Inglis.
