IND vs AUS: Suryakumar Yadav Lauds Rinku Singh For His Match-Winning Knock In The 2nd T20I

Suryakumar Yadav expressed amazement as Rinku Singh delivered another impactful performance, this time during the second T20I against Australia on Sunday. Suryakumar commended the Indian cricketers for shouldering responsibility and executing their roles with precision in the ongoing T20I series, leading to India’s 2-0 lead after a 44-run victory on November 26.

Suryakumar Yadav exclusively said in the post match presentation: ” The boys aren’t putting too much pressure on me, they’re taking responsibility. I told them before the toss to be prepared to bat first. There was a lot of dew after three overs, told the boys to back themselves,”

Delighted with Rinku Singh’s unbeaten 31 off nine balls, including four fours and two sixes, Suryakumar highlighted his crucial contributions in both the second T20I and the earlier match where India won by two wickets. Suryakumar praised Rinku’s composed gameplay.

“When I saw Rinku in the last game, the composure was brilliant. Today’s effort too reminds us of everyone who’s done this for India.”

Previously, Rinku, who bats left-handed, mentioned his mental preparation to assume the finisher’s role in competitive cricket. Following the victory in Trivandrum, India is set to proceed to Guwahati, where they will take on Australia in the third T20I at the Barsapara Cricket Stadium.

The match commenced with a robust start from Yashasvi Jaiswal and Ruturaj Gaikwad, forming a formidable opening partnership of 77 runs in 5.5 overs. Jaiswal scored a brisk 53 off 25 balls before departing. Ishan Kishan joined Gaikwad, guiding India beyond 100 at the midway point, eventually achieving his half-century in 29 balls but falling to Marcus Stoinis after scoring 52 off 32 balls.

Gaikwad also completed his half-century, contributing 58 off 43 balls before being dismissed in the final over. Rinku Singh added an unbeaten 31 runs from 9 deliveries.

Australia faced a slow start, with Ravi Bishnoi and Axar Patel securing three wickets within the powerplay. Bishnoi removed Matthew Short and Josh Inglis consecutively, while Axar dismissed Glenn Maxwell for 12 off 8 balls in the final powerplay delivery. Prasidh Krishna then eliminated Steve Smith for 19 off 16 balls.

Marcus Stoinis and Tim David revived Australia’s chances, adding 81 runs for the fifth wicket. Bishnoi later dismissed David for 37 off 22 balls, and shortly after, Mukesh Kumar removed Stoinis for 45 off 25 balls. Australia lost momentum, facing quick wicket losses. Despite Matthew Wade’s late aggressive hits, it was insufficient to guide Australia to victory.
