The current Indian test cricketer Cheteshwar Pujara visited to see India versus Australia’s One-day international match played at Saurashtra Cricket Association Stadium, Rajkot on 27th September 2023. Pujara plays his domestic cricket for Saurashtra at this venue. He was in England for County Cricket but was suspended.
Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Mohammed Siraj, and Kuldeep Yadav featured in the playing XI for 3rd One-day international. During the practice session at Rajkot, Pujara came and had a handshake with head coach Rahul Dravid and talked with Indian captain Rohit Sharma.

Australian captain Pat Cummins won the toss and decided to bat first. David Warner and Mitchell Marsh showed intent right from word go putting pressure on the Indian bowling lineup. Warner looked in sublime touch hitting boundaries at will and completed his fifty off 32 balls. He was eventually dismissed trying to hit another attacking shot. Warner and Marsh added 78 runs for the opening wicket laying a strong foundation for a big total.
Mitchell Marsh and Steve Smith continued their aggressive intent putting them under severe pressure. Marsh was included in the playing XI and completed fifty off 45 deliveries. Marsh and Smith kept the scoreboard ticking with boundaries at regular intervals. Both Australian batters struggled with severe heat. Kuldeep Yadav struck to dismiss Marsh providing a simple catch to Krishna. Smith and Marsh added 137 runs for the 2nd wicket.
The Indian bowlers made a strong comeback as they kept picking wickets at regular intervals. Marnus Labuschagne looked in decent touch completing fifty off 43 deliveries. Jasprit Bumrah stunned Maxwell with a brilliant yorker. Labuschagne and Pat Cummins provided some valuable runs putting on 46 runs for the 7th wicket. Australia posted 352 for 7 in 50 overs.
Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli looked in superb form
India’s opener Rohit Sharma looked in sensational form putting the pressure on Australian bowling hitting them for big shots while Washington Sundar was asked to open and struggled. Rohit took on Starc, Cummins, and Green. He completed his fifty off just 31 deliveries not allowing them to settle. At the end of the first 10 overs, India raced away to 72 without loss.
Virat Kohli returned to playing XI and looked in decent touch keeping the scoreboard ticking along with Rohit Sharma. Kohli completed his half-century off 56 deliveries keeping on course. Maxwell took the wickets of Rohit and Kohli in quick succession to dent India’s chances of winning. Australia bowled India for 286 giving 66 run victory.
