Team India batters showcased a spectacular batting performance during the second ODI against Australia on Sunday, September 24 at the Holkar Stadium in Indore. The match witnessed several breathtaking shots, including a 94m long six by KL Rahul, that sailed out of the park. It left the fans as well as Shubman Gill, who was at the non-striker’s end amazed.
The incident took place during the thirty-fifth over of the Indian innings. Cameron Green bowled a length delivery to KL Rahul. The Indian wicket-keeper batter smacked the ball over deep mid-wicket for a huge six. The ball sailed all the way over the roof of the Holkar stadium in Indore. We have the momentum at the right time: Shubman Gill
Team India defeated Australia comfortably by 99 runs (317 target due to rain) in the second ODI at Indore. The Indian batting unit has been in tremendous form, especially Shubman Gill. The opener is the leading run-scorer in the series so far, scoring 178 runs in 2 matches. He has scored five centuries in ODI cricket this year, the most recent in the second ODI at Indore.
Talking about the win in the second ODI and his individual performance, Shubman Gill said at the post-match presentation,
“It feels good. Satisfied as a team, we have the momentum at the right time. It depends on the situation, there’s definitely some confidence. I can cover up later, and that confidence is because I am scoring at the moment. With the way KL and Surya played, they kept the momentum going.”
“I think the six against Green down the ground, it was really special for me,” added Shubman Gill.
Team India has an unassailable lead of 2-0 in the three-match series. The final ODI will take place on Wednesday, September 27 at the Saurashtra Cricket Association in Rajkot.
