The Delhi Capitals opener Prithvi Shaw is completing the mandatory quarantine after reaching London. Prithvi Shaw and Suryakumar Yadav both were part of the recent India tour of the Sri Lanka white ball series. Also, the star batting duo directly took a flight from Colombo and have reached London yesterday with covid-19 negative certificates.
Shaw and Suryakumar are currently in isolation and finishing it they are expected to be available for the 2nd Test against England. Meanwhile star opener Prithvi Shaw shared an Instagram story with his fans regarding his current situation.
In the snap of his hotel room, multiple dumbbells were seen on the floor. Shaw wrote:
“My Quarantine room be like.”
Notably, India named Suryakumar Yadav and Shaw as replacements for the injured opener Shubman Gill and Washington Sundar. However, the journey was not at all easy for the duo to travel to England. They faced a lot of difficulties in the last two weeks.
During the Sri Lanka series, they were found in close contact with Covid-19 positive Krunal Pandya. As a result, they were sent for self-isolation during the T20I series. Also after getting tested negative several times the duo was allowed to travel to England. Meanwhile, just after finishing the quarantine, they will be available for selection.
“Prithvi Shaw is someone who likes to go hard at the ball and play brutal strokes” – Salman Butt
The former Pakistan captain recently discussed about Prithvi Shaw. Also in the video, he opined that Prithvi Shaw has an amazing opportunity to deliver a good performance in England. Butt stated :
“Prithvi Shaw has an opportunity in England to prove why many people rate him so highly. But he could struggle in England given that his footwork is not all that good. In England, even batsmen with the best of footwork sometimes have a tough time, especially when the ball swings.”
“Prithvi Shaw is someone who likes to go hard at the ball and play brutal strokes. It is evident from the way he bats that he enjoys belting the ball. But in England, you have to be a bit careful. You cannot just take on the bowlers without taking into account the movement and the conditions. Prithvi Shaw will have to review this aspect of his game,” concluded Butt.
