IND vs ENG: England Announce Playing XI For Fourth Test

England

England

England named their playing XI for the fourth Test match to be played at JSCA Stadium, Ranchi from 23rd February onwards. It promises to be an exciting encounter as they lost the previous Rajkot Test match by a massive 434-run margin.

The batting order looks settled as Zak Crawley will open the innings with Ben Duckett. Duckett made a brilliant 153 runs in the first innings of the 3rd test match. Ollie Pope, Joe Root, Jonny Bairstow, and Ben Stokes would comprise of middle order batters. All these England batters failed to contribute much to the 3rd test match and will be eager to provide some substantial contributions.

Ben Foakes would do the wicketkeeping job for England. The pace bowling option comprises James Anderson who struggled in the 3rd test match while Ollie Robinson will feature replacing Mark Wood. Ben Stokes could do the duties of bowling.

The spin bowling will see Tom Hartley who struggled badly in the 3rd test match at Rajkot. Shoaib Bashir would return to playing XI after missing the previous match after making his debut in the 2nd test match at Vizag.

England would be eager to level the series at 2-2 with an impressive performance. James Anderson struggled badly in the 3rd test match at Rajkot where Indian batters made good use of the batting conditions.

The England batting unit needs to stand up and provide support for the inexperienced spin bowling unit. Joe Root, Bairstow, and Stokes must perform well as a batter that would help the England team post a decent total and then put pressure on the Indian batting unit.

England’s batting crumbled under pressure in the second innings being bundled out for 122. James Anderson and Mark Wood struggled with bowling. Tom Hartley looked toothless and would be looking for a much-improved performance.

Here we look at England’s Playing XI for the 4th Test at Ranchi

Ben Duckett, Zak Crawley, Ollie Pope, Joe Root, Ben Stokes (C), Jonny Bairstow, Ben Foakes, Ollie Robinson, Tom Hartley, Shoaib Bashir, James Anderson.
