India are gearing up to face England in a three-match ODI series as part of their final preparations for the upcoming Champions Trophy, which is just around the corner. Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli endured a tough time during the Australia tour, struggling to score runs against the high-quality pace attack of Scott Boland, Mitchell Starc, and Pat Cummins.
Both Rohit and Kohli also made appearances in the Ranji Trophy but failed to make a significant impact. The star duo will be eager to regain form before India take on Najmul Shanto’s Bangladesh in their Champions Trophy opener at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium.
Meanwhile, all eyes will be on spinner Varun Chakravarthy, who recently tormented England with 14 wickets in the five-match T20I series, including a five-wicket haul. His impressive performances in the Rajkot T20I helped him break into the top five of the ICC rankings for bowlers.
For England, Jos Buttler faces the challenge of making a strong comeback. Joe Root, on the other hand, is set to play his first ODI since the 2023 World Cup. Meanwhile, Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Buttler, and several other players are on the verge of achieving significant milestones in the upcoming series.
