IND vs ENG: [WATCH] Shreyas Iyer Takes A Stunning Catch To Dismiss Zak Crawley

Shreyas Iyer catch

Team India cricketer Shreyas Iyer took an outstanding catch to dismiss Zak Crawley in the second Test against England on Saturday, February 3 at the  Dr. Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium in Visakhapatnam. His effort left the fans as well as the commentators amazed.

The incident took place during the twenty-third over of England’s first innings. Zak Crawley was looking well settled notching up a fifty. However, on the third delivery of the over, he faced down the track to a full delivery, which was bowled a bit wider by Axar Patel. The ball hit the toe end of the bat as Crawley went for a slog.

Shreyas Iyer who was at a backward point came running in. He judged it brilliantly to pull off a great diving catch. The catch left everyone in awe. India was finally able to end Crawley’s innings. The opener scored 76 runs from 78 deliveries, with eleven boundaries and two sixes.

Shreyas Iyer’s struggle with the bat continues

Shreyas Iyer failed to make a mark in the first innings of the second Test against England at Vishakhapatnam. He got a start but couldn’t build on it. The right-handed batter was dismissed for 27 runs from 59 deliveries with three boundaries. He managed scores of 35 and 13 in the first Test. Talking about Shreyas Iyer’s performance, Kevin Pietersen said on Jio Cinema,

“Listen, when Kohli comes back and other guys come back (KL Rahul and Ravindra Jadeja) and these are the days these boys are going to look back and go, ‘oh why did I not get a hundred? I had the opportunity to get the hundred’. And when you are sloppy like that, getting out doesn’t impress me at all.”

“You got to really grab the game by the scruff of its neck and say I am not letting go here. I am afraid to say with Shreyas it all seems a bit too sloppy. Sloppy is the word,” he added.
