Indian team captain Suryakumar Yadav kept experiencing batting difficulties during the present five-match T20I series with England. During Rajkot’s third T20 international match, Yadav fell to the bowling after facing seven balls with only 14 runs on the scoreboard. The group threw all their effort into the game but their first defeat in the series resulted after falling short by 26 more runs.
Yadav’s recent batting performance produces worries because the team’s captain lacks notable results with the bat. Yadav maintains his status as an outstanding top-order batsman but has yet to achieve the same results in this current series.
India plans to see Yadav make a successful comeback so he can provide a leading example in upcoming matches. Two more games remain until India seeks redemption from their defeat to gain leadership in this series. The decisive outcome of this series depends greatly on how well Yadav handles his performances at bat.
Suryakumar Yadav needs to choose when to be aggressive: Michael Vaughan
In their current Twenty20 International series against England, Michael Vaughan feels that Suryakumar Yadav needs to change the way he bats. He advises the captain of India to relax in before attacking, since his aggressive early shots resulted in multiple dismissals.
“When you say be aggressive all the time, it is choosing the right ball to be aggressive to. Clearly, you cannot hit every single ball to the boundary. For India to be the team they are, they are the world champions for a reason; they need their best players in form,” said Vaughan during an interaction on Cricbuzz Live.
“The only way the players get into good form is by spending time in the middle. At the minute, Suryakumar Yadav is going out there, hitting a few good shots, and before you blink, he is back on his way to the dugout without making too much of a contribution,” he added.
India failed to chase down the 172-run target, scoring only 145/9 after 20 overs.
