IND vs NZ: Ticket Prices Unchanged For Wankhede Test

The Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) has announced that ticket prices for the third Test between India and New Zealand at Wankhede Stadium, set for November 1-5, 2024, will remain unchanged.

This is in contrast to a 25% price increase seen three years ago, when daily tickets rose to ₹125 from ₹100, and season tickets to ₹375 from ₹300. In the 2021 Test between these two teams at the same venue, India triumphed by 372 runs, and New Zealand’s Ajaz Patel made history by claiming all 10 wickets in a single innings.

Online Ticket Sales and Seating Details

The MCA has revealed that online sales for the Test will begin on October 18, following a decision made in an apex council meeting held on October 15. Ticket prices for the North Stand, Sachin Tendulkar Stand, and Vijay Merchant Stand will be ₹1,500 for a season pass.

For the Sunil Gavaskar Stand, prices are ₹325 for the east lower and ₹625 for the east upper sections. However, the VIP box remains invitation-only, reserved for officials, BCCI, and MCA guests.

Special Passes for Students and Young Cricketers

In a gesture towards promoting cricket among the youth, the MCA has decided to distribute free passes to children from Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation schools and the semifinalists of the Harris and Giles Shield tournaments. This decision is part of the association’s ongoing efforts to engage with the local community and encourage young cricketers to experience high-level competition firsthand.

With the ticket prices remaining unchanged, the upcoming India vs. New Zealand Test at Wankhede Stadium offers fans an affordable opportunity to witness high-quality cricket. The decision by the MCA to provide free passes to local students and young cricketers highlights the association’s commitment to fostering a love for the game among the youth.

As online ticket sales open on October 18, cricket enthusiasts can look forward to an exciting contest in one of India’s most iconic venues, where historic moments have unfolded in the past. This Test promises to deliver another memorable chapter in India-New Zealand cricketing history.
