IND vs NZ: Will Rachin Ravindra Be The Key Wicket In The Champions Trophy Final?

Rachin Ravindra

Rachin Ravindra has played exceptionally well for New Zealand in the ODI format. He will be one of the guys to look out for in the final clash of IND vs NZ on Sunday, March 9, 2025. India and New Zealand met once in the league stage, where India registered a comfortable win over the Kiwis.

But this is the final, a match that counts. The winner here will be remembered forever. Thus, it will be important for India to bring their A game on the field and forget about what happened in the past.

Opening for New Zealand, Rachin Ravindra has played some memorable knocks. While he has played only 31 ODI (One Day International) games for New Zealand, he averages 41.85 at a strike rate of 108.91. The attention here should be on the strike rate. If he gets going, then he can take away the game fast from India.

Rachin Ravindra’s Performance Against India

In the ODI format, Ravindra has only played one big innings against India, and that too was long back in the 2023 ODI World Cup. But his innings was an impactful one. He scored 75 off 87 deliveries, which was impressive, given that he had very less experience at the time.

Ravindra scored 108 off 101 deliveries against South Africa in the semi-final match of the Champions Trophy 2025. This means that he is heading into the finals with a century in the kitty, which will do wonders for his confidence.

Getting the wicket of Rachin early on will be crucial for India. He can bat long with Williamson and take the game away from India. Having played for CSK (Chennai Super Kings), Rachin also understands how Indian bowlers bowl and what kind of mindset they come with.
