IND vs PAK: Ravi Shastri Takes A Fun Dig At Babar Azam

Pakistan’s batting struggles were once again exposed as they found themselves at 188/5 after 41 overs against India in their much-anticipated Champions Trophy clash. With hopes pinned on senior batter Babar Azam to anchor the innings, the right-hander failed to make a significant impact, managing only 23 off 26 balls and leaving his team in a difficult position.

Former Indian cricketer Ravi Shastri took a dig at Babar, asking, “Do you remember the last time Babar Azam saved Pakistan from a collapse?” To this, Wasim Akram responded sharply, “No, because Babar himself is part of the collapse.” In his last five ODI innings against India, Babar has recorded scores of 50(58), 10(24), 48(57), 9(25), 47(62), 46(52), and 8(12).

Batting first on a tricky pitch, Pakistan lost both openers in the powerplay. Babar, regarded as the backbone of Pakistan’s batting lineup, failed to stabilize the innings in the middle overs, raising concerns about his ability to handle high-pressure situations.

The scenario led to a heated exchange in the commentary box, reflecting the growing frustration among fans and experts. The lighthearted exchange between Ravi Shastri and Wasim Akram occurred during their commentary stint. You can watch here:
