India and Sri Lanka to play three-match T20I series in February: India set to host Sri Lanka for a three-match Twenty20 International series next month ahead of the Asia Cup and the World T20.
The subcontinent neighbours will lock horns for the first time in the shortest format of the game after facing each other in the 2014 World T20 final. The tour begins in Pune on February 9 and then the teams will travel to Delhi on 12 February and Visakhapatnam on 14 February.
India are currently playing the limited-overs series down under against the World Champions and are having a tough time. The series will end on 31st January after three T20Is where the men in blue will look to change fortunes.
This India-Sri Lanka short bilateral series was agreed on keeping in mind for the upcoming ICC event, the World T20. The teams will again meet each other at the Asia Cup which will be in T20 format this time around in order to ensure that the teams will have enough games to gear up for the World Championship.
