Team India have begun training in Ahmedabad for the three-match ODI series against West Indies, days after multiple COVID-19 cases were detected in the Indian camp. What comes as a respite is that no new cases have been detected.
Incidentally, a couple of COVID-19 cases have emerged in the Indian camp with Shikhar Dhawan, Ruturaj Gaikwad, Shreyas Iyer, and Navdeep Singh affected among the cricketers. Three other support staff have also contracted COVID-19, including fielding coach T Dilip.
However, a report in ANI has confirmed that there have been no new positive cases in the hosts camp.
“No new COVID-19 case has been reported in the bubble and the members have started training. The players barring the positive members have started training,” the source pointed.

India have called up Mayank Agarwal for the upcoming three-match ODI series against West Indies after a number of positive Covid-19 results.
Three members of the playing squad, one of the standby players, and three members of the coaching staff have returned positive RT-PCR tests as part of India’s pre-series testing program.
The upcoming three-game ODI series against West Indies is scheduled to start on Sunday 6 February, with a T20I series to follow between Wednesday 16 February and Sunday 20 February.
