Defending Champions India crush Pakistan by 7 wickets in their last league match of Women’s T20 Asia Cup played at Kinara Academy Oval, Kuala Lumpur a few moments ago. It was a dominating performance by the Indian team who outplayed Pakistan in all departments and led to an easy win.
Pakistan captain Bismah Maroof won the toss and elected to bat first. The Indian team got off to a perfect start as Shikha Pandey dismissed Nain Abidi in the very first over. Anuja Patil then dismissed Pakistan captain Maroof for 4 runs. The Indian bowlers continued their impressive bowling. At the end of 6 overs, Pakistan women scored 25 for 3.
After the power play overs, the Indian bowlers did not allow the Pakistan batters to score runs easily and also picked wickets at regular intervals. Nahida Khan scored 18 runs and was the 4th wicket to fall. Their experienced player Sana Mir was the top scorer with 20*. Indian women’s team restricted Pakistan to just 72 for 7 in 20 overs. For India, Ekta Bisht was the pick of bowlers with 3 for 14. All other Indian bowlers created pressure on Pakistan batting line up with good tight bowling.
Chasing 73 to win, Anam Amim got the big wickets of Mithali Raj and Deepti Sharma to put the Indian team on the back foot. The experience of Smriti Mandhana and Captain Harmanpreet Kaur steadied playing slowly at the start.
At the end of 6 overs, Indian eves scored 21 for 2. After the power play overs, both batters continued to take singles, doubles and hit bad balls away for boundaries. Both Smriti Mandhana and Harmanpreet Kaur added 65 runs for the 3rd wicket. Smriti Mandhana was dismissed 38. Indian captain Kaur remained not out on 34.
The Indian women’s team won the match by 7 wickets with 23 balls to spare. Anam Amim was the pick of bowlers for Pakistan with 2 wickets while Nashra Sandhu took 1 wicket.

Pakistan Women 72 for 7 in 20 overs ( Sana Mir 20*, Nahida Khan 18, Ekta Bisht 3/14) by 7 wickets.
Indian women’s will play the finals of Women’s Asia Cup 2018 tomorrow.
