After a humiliating defeat in the first T20I, Team India will look to bounce back and level terms in the five-match T20I series when they lock horns with England in the 2nd T20I on March 14 (Sunday) at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. Virat Kohli & Co will have a lot of work to do in terms of finding the right combination before the 2nd encounter.

Virat Kohli, the Indian skipper, admitted after the loss that it was down to poor execution, of trying to play too many shots too early when the pitch demanded a different approach. Resting Rohit Sharma in the first tie backfired for India as Shikhar Dhawan and KL Rahul both off to a faulty start and they never recovered back from there. Kohli has advocated for an aggressive brand of cricket in the lead-up to the series and is likely to stick to the plan.

Meanwhile, the hosts are expected to experiment with their bowling attack while the batters will have to apply themselves in a bid to bounce back in the series. On the other hand, England’s plan fell into place to attack the Indians batters with extra pace from Jofra Archer and Mark Wood. They are likely to continue with the plan and stick to their plan of one spinner in contrast to their opponent’s three.

English top-order batsmen also fared well against India’s bowling attack but their ideal job will be to show consistency and do it in the next four matches. If they manage to do so, it will give them a massive boost ahead of the ICC T20 World Cup.
