With the series tied at 1-1, the five-match T20I series between India and England which is a dress rehearsal of the ICC T20I World Cup is up for an exciting finish. The third encounter of the series will take place on March 16 (Tuesday) at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. Meanwhile, with the rising coronavirus cases, BCCI has decided to host matches behind closed doors.

India almost had the perfect game, ticking all the right boxes after their disappointing start to the series. Going too hard too soon, they reigned their instincts in, but continued with their experimentation, handing Suryakumar Yadav and Ishan Kishan maiden T20I caps. While the former didn’t get to bat in the chase of 165, Kishan shined in his maiden knock and blazed away to a half-century.

Ishan had a perfect debut with an eye on the World Cup spot given the failure of Shikhar Dhawan in the first T20I, and the dual ones of KL Rahul, who has scores of 1 and 0 so far, with Rohit Sharma still being rested. Hardik Pandya fit again to bowl will be a massive advantage for India to strike the right chord in the side.

For England, they didn’t do much wrong in the 2nd T20I but India were a better side on that given day. The only change for England could be Tom Curran out for either Moeen Ali or Mark Wood. If you’ve to go by what Eoin Morgan said about the wicket aiding spin, it should be Moeen, who can also take the ball away from the left-handers in Ishan Kishan and Rishabh Pant.
