Jasprit Bumrah BGT Performance
India’s tour was filled with impressive performances but the brightest pearl was the young fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah. He began brightly in Adelaide, where he bagged four wickets to censor Australia’s lead.
Bumrah scalped six wickets in the first innings and three in the second innings to give India a nine-wicket match haul and help India escape with a draw in a rain-interrupted game in Brisbane.
The fast bowler Bumrah also sustained his form in Melbourne and he took four wickets in the first innings and five wickets in the second innings, where Australia was all out for 234. Still, despite the Indian defeat in the match, Bumrah had been duly awarded the Player of the Series.
During the entire tour, it was Bumrah who continued to be the lone Indian weapon, who delivered match-winning performances repeatedly. This tour was otherwise unkind to the Indian team, but his command of the baseball made him stand out from the pack.
