India’s performance in the 2021/23 World Test Championship cycle
The Indian Cricket Team showed their good performances in the 2021/23 ICC World Test Championship cycle. They began this cycle with a 2-2 draw against England in their home den. India looked in a good position winning 2-1 in four Test matches they played but due to the COVID outbreak in the Indian camp, they decided to reschedule the match in 2022.
Their 2nd World Test Championship series was against New Zealand at home. The first Test match at Kanpur was a draw and the second Test at Mumbai was India winning by 372 runs.
The Indian team lost their first series against South Africa in South Africa from December 2021-January 2022. After winning the opening match at Centurion, they lost the next two Test matches in Johannesburg and Cape Town.
India thrashed Sri Lanka by 2-0 at home to gain valuable points. India did not play any Test match after July. They whitewashed Bangladesh by 2-0 in Bangladesh to stay in contention for the final spot.
India won the first two Test matches against Australia at Nagpur and New Delhi before losing in Indore. This will be their second successive ICC Test Championship finals and hoping to bring silverware against Australia.
