India ready to play Day-Night test match away from home says Virat Kohli

After India played its first ever pink ball test match against Bangladesh in Eden Gardens. There has been a talk about India playing Day-Night test matches away from home.

As India prepare for the one day series against Australia starting on 14th January at the iconic Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. Virat Kohli while speaking to the press said that India are ready to play day-night test matches away from home.

Cricket Australia had proposed and requested the BCCI if they would like to play a day-night test match in Adelaide when India toured Australia back in 2018-19.

There have been talks that India could play one or two day night test matches in Australia when they tour Down Under to defend their Border Gavaskar Trophy in November and December.

Virat was very confident of India’s chances if they played the pink ball test against the Australians away from home, he was very also very sure that India would cross swords well with the Australians and could give them a good fight.

“We played the day & night test here (India), we are happy with how it went. It has become a very exciting feature of any test series, we are open to playing day & night tests. We are ready for the challenge,” Kohli told the reporters in Mumbai.

BCCI President Sourav Ganguly has had meeting with the CA officials in order to come to a conclusion if the Indians would want to play a day-night test match against the rampant Australians in Australia.

“With India touring Australia, they should definitely look at one or two Tests because timing definitely makes a difference,” says Rajesh Kaul, head of sports business at Sony Pictures Network (SPN), rights holders for cricket in Australia.

It will be a match for the decades if India play Australia in the Day Nigt Test as it could also be India’s first Day Night test match away from home.
