India retain No.1 T20I rankings, Kohli becomes No.1 T20I batsman: After a series of consistent performances, India’s batting spearhead, Virat Kohli has mopped up Aaron Finch to claim the top spot in International Cricket Council”s T20 Batting Rankings. Following his magnificent match-winning knock of 82 not out against Australia in the ICC World Twenty20 Super 10 match, Kohli has opened up a 68-point advantage over Finch.
Kohli, who has scored 184 runs in this mega event with an average of 92 in four matches at a strike-rate of over 132, had entered the tournament 24 points behind Aaron Finch. Kohli is the lone Indian batsman in the Top-10 rankings. New Zealand”s Martin Guptill climbed up two places to occupy the third spot.
Australia”s Shane Watson who signed off from international cricket after World T20 exit against India, grabbed the number-one position in all-rounder rankings. In the batting charts, the burly all-rounder finished in 10th spot (up by three places) after scoring 96 runs in the tournament.
In bowling department, spinner Samuel Badree holds the No.1 position. This West Indies leggie is set to take on the No.1 T20I side, India on Thursday for the spot in the final of the World T20 2016. India”s Ravinchandran Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja feature in the Top-10 bowling rankings. Ashwin, who was on top has slipped 2 places to be at 3rd while Jadeja moved up 3 spots to be at 7th.
India continues to top the rankings for teams in T20I, followed closely by New Zealand and West Indies.
