India To Tour South Africa For A T20I Series In November

India will head to South Africa in November 2024 for a brief 4-match T20I series, as announced with the aid of Cricket South Africa and the BCCI in a joint announcement. This marks the second consecutive year the Indian men’s crew will tour South Africa, having played throughout all 3 formats within the 2023-24 season.

The series will start with the first T20I at Kingsmead in Durban on November 8. Then, They will then travel to Gkeberha for the second match, followed by Centurion on November 13 and Johannesburg on November 15.

Last year, the T20I series ended in a 1-1 tie, with the match in Durban being rained out. This short tour fits between India’s home Tests against New Zealand and their upcoming Border-Gavaskar series in Australia.

“I would like to thank the BCCI for their continued support to South Africa’s cricket, and world cricket in general,” CSA Chairperson Lawson Naidoo said. “Any tour with the Indian cricket team to our breaches is filled with amazing camaraderie and exciting cricket, and I know our fans will be eagerly waiting for this series which will showcase the awesome skills from both teams”

In his statement, BCCI secretary Jay Shah said:  “India and South Africa have always shared a deep and strong bond, one that both nations take great pride in. The Indian Cricket Team has consistently received immense appreciation and love from South African fans, and this sentiment is equally strong among Indian fans towards the South African side.”

“I am confident that the upcoming series will once again highlight the on-field cricketing excellence and deliver enthralling, high-intensity contests.”

1st T20I Match on November 8 – Kingsmead, Durban

2nd T20I Match on November 10 – St George’s Park, Gqeberha

3rd T20I Match on November 13 – SuperSport Park, Centurion

4th T20I Match on November 15 – Wanderers Stadium, Johannesburg
