Team India’s spinner Kuldeep Yadav has reportedly asked the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) for leave to attend his wedding following the ongoing first Test against South Africa at Eden Gardens, Kolkata. This could mean he may miss the second Test as well as the three-match ODI series against the Proteas.
As per a Times of India report, the wrist-spinner is awaiting approval for his leave from the BCCI, with his wedding scheduled for the last week of November.
“Kuldeep’s wedding is planned for the last week of Nov. The team management will assess when they will need his services before granting him the exact number of leaves,” a BCCI source told the Times of India.
Kuldeep Yadav, who got engaged in June earlier this year, has been actively representing India across all formats in recent months. He featured in the England tour, the home series against the West Indies, the Australia white-ball tour, and is currently part of the South Africa assignment.
The hectic schedule continues, with India’s upcoming tours against New Zealand and preparations for the 2026 T20 World Cup on the horizon.
“Wedding Likely In November On An Auspicious Date”- Kuldeep Yadav’s Coach
Kuldeep Yadav’s coach, Kapil Pandey, shared during the engagement ceremony that the wedding, after a short delay, is now expected to take place in November.
“The IPL has just ended and the England tour will start soon, so players couldn’t join. The wedding will be finalised on an auspicious date, probably in November. A starry turnout is expected,” Kapil Pandey told the Hindustan Times in June.
The second Test between India and South Africa starts on November 22 in Guwahati, followed by a three-match ODI series from November 30 to December 6, before the five-match T20Is.
