Indian Fast Bowler Navdeep Saini Ties The Knot With His Girlfriend Swati Asthana

Indian fast bowler Navdeep Saini recently married his longtime girlfriend, Swati Asthana, as announced on his official Instagram account. The 30-year-old Haryana-born cricketer made his T20I debut for India in 2019.

Swati, known for her fashion, travel, and lifestyle content, operates a YouTube channel linked to her Instagram account, where she boasts over 80,000 followers.

Saini asked for everyone’s blessings and conveyed the message on his Instagram:

“With you, everyday is a day of love. Today, we decided on forever. Seeking all your blessings and love as we start a new chapter of our life.”

Navdeep Saini got congratulatory messages from fellow Indian cricketers including Mohammed Siraj, Rahul Tewatia, Mohsin Khan, Umran Malik, and Arshdeep Singh.

The fast bowler was recently in action during the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy (SMAT). However, his team, Delhi, was knocked out in the semi-finals by Punjab, and Saini had a challenging performance, securing no wickets while conceding 32 runs in three overs.

Throughout the tournament, Saini managed only four wickets in seven games. Earlier in October, Saini was a member of the Rest of India (ROI) team that emerged victorious in the Irani Cup.

After an impressive 2019 IPL season, Saini has faced challenges in the tournament, participating in only six matches over the past three years. In the 2023 season with the Rajasthan Royals, he managed to take three wickets in two matches.

What occurred the last time Navdeep Saini played a Test match for India?

Navdeep Saini’s recent Test match for India is considered one of the country’s unforgettable moments. It took place in the last Test of the 2021 Australia tour, where an understrength Indian team defied expectations to achieve an incredible comeback.

The 30-year-old was included in the playing XI for the last two Tests mainly because many players were sidelined with injuries. With the series level at one win each, Saini took four wickets in his debut during the drawn third Test at the SCG.

Even though Saini didn’t take many wickets in the final Test in Brisbane, he was part of the team that achieved one of India’s best wins. They chased a challenging target of 328 runs in the last innings and won by three wickets, with great contributions from Gill, Pujara, and Pant.

Saini stood at the non-striker’s end as Pant hit the winning runs, securing India’s 2-1 series victory. Despite being on the edge of selection for Test cricket, the 30-year-old has not played a single match since the memorable Brisbane Test.
